However, this wasn’t Mario Andretti, just a mechanic with Mario’s helmet to pose as him & Essex never sponsored the Wildcat MkIV, a car used in the 1980 CART season, they sponsored Team Penske & their PC9 in 1980 & they were going to sponsor the MkVIII for the ‘81 season, but the car wasn’t ready yet & as it turns out they would never sponsor the Wildcat entered at Indianapolis either, a fall out about unfinished payments saw STP take over as the main sponsor
