LUDDITES join hands and REJOICE! After watching the new Porsche GT3RS lapping the Nürburgring Nordschleife this morning, I'm overjoyed to report that it appears to be a naturally aspirated TRACK MONSTER.Yes, this is the car that will open a thousand chequebooks in less than one hour. One friend has even pre-ordered his, and he told me that he has a delivery date next summer. It will be the must-own car at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, and I think we can all see why...
Just... wow. This thing looks awesome. That wing looks awesome. Much want.Like the 993 GT2 of old, it looks fully adjustable and removable. I'd speculate that a wing that big might not hit all the pedestrian collision targets around the world, but then it would just come in a box next to your car, marked "NOT FOR USE ON PUBLIC ROAD".Which would only make the RS version even cooler, I'd argue!
And why did everyone think it might be a turbo? Well, it's THOSE vents above the rear wheel, of course. They're very similar to those used on the previous turbo and GT2 models. But much like the RSR racing cars, it would appear that they're included in the RS version not just as an alluring cosmetic addition, but also functionally too.[
Check out the exit vents below the rear windscreen for proof of this extra cooling capacity. You can also see just how much wider the RennSport version is. And those dive planes! RS4.0 eat your heart out...
The new GT3RS will be launched later this year and will appear on the Nürburgring Nordschleife being driven slowly in the middle of track about 3.4 seconds later.
The view we can all expect to see soon. He just needs to blink right... ;)
